Welcome to the Bush Hospital Foundation

The Bush Hospital Foundation is a charity incorporated by the Royal court in the Island of Jersey.

We are a field active international agency which funds medical projects in Sub Saharan Africa.

Our mission:

The Bush Hospital Foundation's mission is to identify and fund Primary Health Care projects in developing countries, without regard to political affiliation, religious belief, ethnic identity, or ability to pay. In fulfilling this objective, The Bush Hospital Foundation works continuously to improve the health and lives of thousands of individuals and families each year.

Funds are collected in Jersey through activities, donated by individuals and schools or given to the Foundation by charitable trusts, international and government agencies, and are used to supply vehicles for the transport of patients and medical staff and to conduct research in the field. Radio communication installations in remote areas have been funded to improve patient care. The bulk of our effort is directed towards the supply of medical equipment and drugs to hospitals and clinics in remote areas or deprived communities in Africa. This is achieved by sponsoring container loads of equipment delivered by Direct Relief International. We have now reached a point where we can expect to supply more than eight million dollars worth per year.
